My Trip to America

My Trip to America

My first trip to America was in fall of 2012. As soon as I got married, my wife and I were planning to travel to America for the purpose of study. Since that time when we decided to travel, we began to gather some information about the place we were going and the required procedures to get there like a travel visa and airline tickets. When we arrived to the United States, so many things surprised us.

First of all, the rules and regulations here in the United States are different to a certain extent from what we had in our country. For example, the driving roles in the United States allows people to drive their cars at age of 16 and over, while in my country, the people can drive at age of 17 and over. Another thing was very great is the traffic regulation on the street, where there are specific lane for pedestrians to walk through and specific bikes lane for the bike riders. Further, the transportation system in the United States is very awesome. There are different ways of transportations including busses, cabs and trains that were running within a limited time schedule. Moreover, one of the things that I was surprised at is the gas station. In my home country, I have a person who fills up my car with a fuel, but in the United States, I had to do it myself.

During my stay in the United States, specifically in California, I found that the weather was little hot at the beginning, but few days later with the entry of fall, it became cooler. Also, in a couple of days back, the climate was very nice and rainy. However, in the other states of America, the weather was too cold and it might be worse during the fall and winter seasons, especially the northeast part of America. Among all the states of America, I found that California is the best place to stay. In addition to the great weather and climate, the most beautiful attraction sites are here in California. For example, Disneyland in Los Angeles, San Diego zoo, wax museum in San Francisco and the Grand Canyon.

Also, the food and restaurants in the United States are different than those in my country. I found that the most popular food in America was fast food, especially hamburgers. However, there were so many different kinds of food and restaurants that we could have, for example, Indian restaurants, Japanese restaurants, Mexican restaurants, Italian restaurants and Arabian restaurants. Due to the presence of multicultural people in America, there are different kinds of food. Besides, everybody could buy his/her favorite food from the super market, so that they can cook it at home in the way that they like.

Another thing, which is very interesting to mention here, is the education in the United States. The education system in America is considered one of the best education systems all around the world whether from their high qualifications or their proficiency in teaching. Furthermore, the Universities in the United States give the students many choices for majoring in different subjects and they also give the chance to the international students to complete their post-graduate studies in different specialties. Also, for English language learners, America is a good choice to learn English from native speakers even if there are another countries that their first language is English like the United Kingdom and Australia, I prefer to be in America. In fact, the school environment in the United States is very unique and attractive for the international students to study.

In conclusion, I would like to say that my trip to America was a great idea. Although there are so many things different than what I had in my home country, I really felt that I was enjoying and doing good with every thing like the rules and regulations, education system, environment, climate, life style and types of food. Finally, I would recommend anybody who wants to study abroad to come to the United States, because in my opinion he/she can enjoy every thing and receive an excellent education.
