my future cafe

I like watching movies, and the most memorable movie I have watched is 《The 36th story》. Today I don't want to talk about this movie, but I want to talk about how this movie effect me. 

When I was young, I want to set up a cafe. I dreamed on day I can surrounded by the aromas of coffee and can make delicious cake by myself. However, I changed my mind after watching that movie. In that movie, the heroine set up a cafe which is so special that made me feel very amazed. Therefore, now I want to set up a cafe like the one in the movies. 

My future coffee bar is called EX-memory Coffee. E is means Enjoy, X is means exchange, and Ex-memory is means exchange your sweet memories.

That is a café, but it is more than a café. Whenever you buy a cup of coffee in this cafe, you will have a chance to change your life. In addition to coffee and cakes, there are so many things people leave there, for instance, an old book, a brooch, an old CD…You can find whatever you like there, and use whatever you dislike or something is no use to you to barter it. For example,if you have a used bike,and these days you want to have a comfortable chair, you can look for it in my bar. If we have,you can use your bike to change this chair and bring it to home for free. Things there can always make you surprised. Maybe you will find something that reminds you of your childhood, or you will meet something that you never see. In return, you should buy a cup of coffee in this café, and you will get a card. Please take care of your card. Only with this card, you can do the bartering.

In addition, In our coffee house, you not only can enjoy the fragrance of coffee, delicious cake, meaningful exchange, but also can learn how to make the fancy coffee. We have several varieties of fancy coffees,and if you want to learn each of them or just want to have a try, you only should pay $10 for once time.

Do you like my future cafe? It is a little bit different from the one in the movie, but I think it is interesting and attractive.

What O'Sullivan thinking.........

Studying English often makes me disappoint. Actually, I think I am a stupid language learner. Because I have already paid whole tuition, I have to study hard. But English also a important language for everyone to study in the world. I usually put shit face because I dissatisfy on my English. The other reason why I often put shit face is headache. I like workout. Because after I have high intensity training, I usually have lower resistance. Therefore I have headache cause me to face like shit. The last why I shit face is I am starving. People who know me enough usually know that I become hungry quickly. I usually 3 or 4 hour I need to eat a meal. Actually, I like I am pleased person, but I can not control that hunger, headache, disappointment. Sometimes, I am thinking about that why I am a idiotic language learner. I recall that how I learned Chinese in past. I remember that when I was in high school. First term I failed on Chinese. Then I did not know what wrong with my Chinese. Now I feel laughable. It likes my English very poor, stupid, silly, and ridiculous. But I do not want to give up. I just do my best in studying English. Actually, in my opinion, I am good at calculus, chemistry, dynamics, thermostatic. Because when I was in university, I got high scores. Specially calculus I like it. Calculus is more interesting than studying English. I like Trigonometry  sin cos tan cot sec csc. If English writing class can change to calculus in English, it is enjoyable for me. Hahaha. Whenever I study reading Encounters story, it makes me crazy to sleep. It likes sleeping drugs. hahaha Every night when I can not sleep well, I just take it and read it. I will sleep very very well. Say true the book is really boring. Maybe is I do not understand the author.

Finally, I think that time is really fast. This quarter will be end. In the future, I think I will miss you guys. I really treasure our friendship and last time of classes. Last, time will be end. Everyone will come back his/her country or go to his/her dream university. I hope that we are always friend. Hahahaha end bye good night.

Romeo and Juliet

Hi, everyone. Today, I want to tell you about Romeo and Juliet. As you know, I read Romeo and Juliet last week and I presented the story to some of you in class. However, I think most of you already know about the story, because Romeo and Juliet is very famous story.

First of all, I want to talk about the writer. The writer is William Shakespeare. He is a very famous English poet and playwright. I think the most famous his play is comedies and tragedies. You may know “The merchant of the Venice”, “Midsummer nights dream” and “Twelfth night” as comedies, and you also may know “Romeo and Juliet”, “Macbeth” and “Hamlet” as tragedies. Actually, I didn’t read all the famous his plays, but after I read Romeo and Juliet intensively, I want to read others.

Romeo and Juliet is a love story, but it has sad ending. When I was younger, I thought that it would be a love story with happy ending. However, when I noticed that it is a sad story, I a little bit disappointed, because I don’t like sad ending. However, it was very novel for me, because I rarely read the love story with sad ending. Almost love stories have a happy ending. So, though it has sad ending, I was very moved and I want to read this story again in English version and also Korean version.

To tell about this story, there were two families who are not in good relationships, Capulet and Montague. They were always fought without specific reason. However, they have a daughter and a son, named Juliet and Romeo, they fell in love. So they try to meet each other. They married secretly, but, because of there fought, Romeo had a trouble. So, because of the fought and misunderstanding, they just died. Yes, it is very sad story, they love each other, but they couldn’t meet and they tried to run out of the town, but they couldn’t do that. 

I really want to recommend reading this story. Also, the other stories, too!

Playing sports not only can we possess a good health, but also we can learn a lot of things about the life. First of all, doing sports constantly can steel people’s willpower and teach us never give up. I think many of us have the same experience, which like that we wanted to win the game or match, but our enemies were stronger than us. At this situation, we should give up or insist to fight. I believe most of will choose insist because if we give up, we will lose, and if we insist, we have the chance to win. It is the very important things we can learn from the sports. Secondly, many sports guide people to work together. No matter how strong you are and no matter how important you are, if the team members cannot get united with you as one man, we will lose the game too. We always said that the basketball is a game need five men. When watching the NBA or other programs, the lost one the usually made a single mistake—not cooperated. Another vital class we can learn is treating defeats and victories correctly. I think it is a fundamental part of competition when we play sports. People always make the following mistakes. When the team lost no matter what reasons, the other members usually will blame their partners; sometimes they will fight each other. And while they almost win the game, they will become loose. So facing failure calmly and embracing success modestly, taught by my teacher, are the most appealing parts of sports. I think there are the reasons why people are encouraged to attend the sports and I insist that in the future much more people will participate in sports and obtain such knowledge of life.

 I am a visual learner and my favorite three strategies for learning visually are taking notes, using power point, and reading. The first strategy that help me to learn is through taking notes .For example, when the teachers make their lectures, I write down some important information .Also, when the teacher uses the white board, I take notes and write summary for my lesson . The second useful strategy of learning is power point. For instance, when someone explains information by using power point, I can understand more better than without it because he or she uses pictures, videos, and maps. In addition, the information which is the power point lesson is organized, so the power point is the best way to explain information to people. The last strategy of learning is through reading. For example, when you read books, or newspapers, you can see a lot of new vocabulary. Also, when you read something more than once, you can understand better than last time, and your reading is improved. Learning visually helps me understand better than other kinds of learning styles, and these three strategies of learning visually are my particular three ways to learn : taking notes, using power point, and reading.

Nowadays, more communities for old people are founded everywhere all over the world. When you walk in a department store, you will find that more and more products for old people have been put on the shelves. The population of old people in the world is growing rapidly, and the reason is people are living longer now. There are several explanations for this phenomenon.

First, under the development of science and technology, it’s obviously the standards of living have been improved a lot. People work less and relax more these days than ten years ago. More entertainment has also been provided, hence people have more chances to entertain and keep a good mood everyday, which is essential for being healthy and living longer.

Moreover, highly developed health system is another significant factor for people to live for a long time , As the governments put more fund for health expenditures, more people are saved from the torture of illness. Furthermore, the improvement of medicine also plays an important role. There is undeniable fact that after people discovered the mysteries of gene, more and more newly developed medicine cured a lot of illness that can’t be cured before.

Besides all these explanations we discussed above, they are also many other reasons. But the main causes of people’s longer life are the development of science and technology, efficient health system and improvement in medicine.

Travel

Hi, everyone!! I would like to write about traveling in this time. Do you like to travel? I like to travel. Travel is one of my hobbies. We can find many things by travel, for example, the culture, the custom, the food, and the personality in the country and so on. As we know that, we can compare to our own country. I am interested in that. I would like to know about different country more. If we take a fancy to the country, we may go to that country again. We may know each country’s good points by traveling. By the way, there are kinds of traveling. It is the difference of the purpose, for instance, sightseeing, finding myself, school trip, and celebration such as a honeymoon. We travel with having the purpose. I often travel for sightseeing. Actually, I traveled to Europe in this September. I stayed in hostel because I do not have much money. It is cheaper than standard hotel, but I can’t stay in single room. I have to share the room with the other people in the hostel. It is not convenient. Because the other people sometimes was snoring. So, I can’t sleep. But there are some good points too. It is that I can meet some people in another country. I am not good English. So, I talked just Japanese traveler. I know most of the traveler in the hostel can speak in English. I am studying English now in here. So, I think I want to talk with many people in some countries in the next travel. I may travel to your countries. Please guide your country for me in the time. Then I am interested in foreign country. If you can do, please teach me about the culture of your country.

David Copperfield

Hi everybody! Today I’d like to tell about book I read in reading class. My book is called “David Copperfield” which was written by famous writer Charles Dickens. This story about man whose name, David. The author describes all his life, since his difficult childhood until adult period. In particular author tells about how he was born and grow up in England, then how he started to work, met and fell in love, got married, lost his lovely people, who played a big role and changed his life.

To begin with, David had a happy early childhood, but young David’s life was not so easy because  his father died before he was born and when he was eight his mother got married again. Her new husband, Mr. Murdtstone, was very strict man and didn’t like David, so he was sent to study to another city. There he met many unpleasant people while he was growing up, but he also met a good people too like a his aunt Miss Betsey. She gave him education, found a job, and did for him a lot of things that changed his life better. During his life he fall in love few times. The first love, Dora, the loveliest girls that he ever saw. After a while he got married Dora. Suddenly she sick, and was ill a long time and finally she died. After all this David tried to change his live. He moved to Switzerland finding new life, but after three years he decided to return in England. After returning he figure out that he loved Agnes and did not know about it, moreover Agnes has been loving him since her childhood. Finally they are got married. After a while, he started to write books, and published several of them. Lastly, he became a well known writer.

Also, I have listened the CD, which was very interesting, enjoyable and easy to understand. If you interested, you can get this book in our reading class any time.

True Believer

Today, I want to blog a story that I have been read this week. The book’s name is <<True Believer>>, by Nicholas Sparks, a famous love story author.  It is a love story about two young people who have the opposite beliefs, and go through many tough experiences,then have a happy ending.

The main actor is Jeremy who is an investigative journalist. He received a letter tells about a phenomenon at the local cemetery where mysterious lights are appearing from the tombstones. The townspeople are convinced these lights are ghosts. Jeremy want to exposed the truth, so he meets Doris, a resident of Boone Creek，she explained to Jeremy about a legend of the graveyard, how a curse was placed on it and the ghosts of former slaves buried there are haunting it., then Jeremy wants to learn more, so he was suggested to go to the library, therefore he met Lexie, Doris' granddaughter. By the way, Jeremy was very happily married years earlier. His wife was perfect. They had both very much wanted to have many kids but it turns out that Jeremy was infertile. His wife divorced him because of this. Some days later, the mayor of the town has a big party celebrating Jeremy's presence in the town. Jeremy goes to the party with Lexie as a date. Lexie is starting to worry that she and Jeremy are getting too close so she packs up and leaves for a few days. Jeremy must be with her and figures out that she's at an old beach house, where her parents were married. He meets her there and she realizes that she is falling in love with him. They make love and spaghetti. Jeremy is convinced he knows what is causing the lights. He is also sure that Lexie and Doris know as well. Jeremy has it out with the mayor, accusing him of scamming everyone to sell this ghost theory. Lexie and Jeremy get in an argument, she is convinced that he looks down on them and their small town ways. The only way they could ever be together is if she sacrificed everything and moved up to New York, not the other way around. Jeremy heads back to New York to write the article, still not sure of what his angle will be. Either about the Mayor scamming the town or simply a theory as to what is causing the mysterious lights. While Jeremy back in New York he can't keep his mind off of Lexie, he loves her. He basically tells himself that Lexie feels the same way about him. He rushes back down to Boones Creek and meets up with Lexie at the cemetery. Jeremy spends the next few nights with Lexie. He has decided to move down there. He can always write his articles there, he doesn't have to be in New York. Lexie finally asks him if he can ever believe in miracles. She told him they have a girl. The book ends with them embracing, and he holding her stomach.

This story is a kind of fairy tales, but I really empathy about it, the true believer should believe what your heart thinking about and what is a true love, and you should make a choice following your heart and the true believer will believe in the miracle of love. 

The most important possessions

                                               The most important possessions

I have never imagined that my house would burn down, but anything unexpected may happen. Actually, I don’t want to lose anything in my house, even a book. However, if there are only three of my possessions that I have time to rescue from the fire, these must be my laptop, my great-grandmother’s photo, and my wallet.

First of all, my laptop is the most important item for me because the memory I stored in it is very precious. For instance, I have taken many pictures with my family growing up, and I stored all of them in my laptop, such as the pictures of my father’s birthday party, the photos we took in my cousin’s commencement, and so on. This is a reservoir of the happiness for our family, so I can’t lose these memories of the happiness of my whole family. In addition, I keep a diary in my laptop. The words I used in the diary can make me think back on my own happiness or sorrow. I can’t lose the memory of my own life.

The second item that I can’t lose is the picture of my great-grandmother. My great-grandmother died eight years ago. This picture is the only one that she left me. She is the most amiable person in my mind. During my childhood, my parents were too busy to look after me, yet only she was able to accompany me. She was the most important person for me at that time. Furthermore, she is my first teacher. When I was a baby, she taught me how to eat, how to walk, and some other things that I learned. Although she has been dead for years, she always lives in my heart. Every time when I look at the picture, it reminds me of her amiable personality. So I can’t lose that picture of her.

Finally, the last item that I will rescue from the fire is my wallet. The important things in my wallet is not the money but the cards. It is very inconvenient to register new cards. For example, if one day I lost all of my cards in my wallet, I have to take the residence booklet of my parents to the sub district office to register my residence booklet. Then I should go to the police station with my residence booklet to register a new ID card. After that, I have to take my ID card to the bank to report my lost credit card and register a new one. It is a very troublesome process. Moreover, in China, there are always so many people waiting in the line to register their card. So if I want to register a new card, I need to spend a lot of time waiting for my turn. I think it is a waste of time.

To make a long story short, in my opinion, my laptop, my great-grandmother’s picture and my wallet are the three possessions that I won’t give up in a fire. I really can’t imagine how sad I would be if I lost them.

Psychic Phenomenon

                Hi everyone! Today, I’d like to tell my true story. But first, I want to ask you two questions. “Have you ever experienced psychic phenomenon?” and “If you haven’t, do you believe psychic phenomenon?”

                My mother and I had a sad experience when I was a middle school student. My mother and I traveled to Saipan, which is located in Pacific Ocean. Saipan used to belong to Japan, but it belongs to the U.S. now. Saipan is one of sightseeing area as popular as Hawaii and Guam, in Japan. It is smaller than Hawaii and Guam, but I enjoyed swimming, snorkeling and going shopping in five days. As soon as we were tired, we went back to our hotel room.

                Second day of the travel, I lay on the bed after I took a shower. I was going to sleep because I was very tired, but I heard foot step around my foot. I thought that the footstep came from next to the door, so I slept well in that night.

                In the morning of third day, my mother had woken up already when I woke up. And she said me she couldn’t sleep well, so I asked her why she couldn’t sleep well. After I asked her, she began to tell me about last night. She said, “I heard the sound which the door was rattled heavily, and the sound didn’t stop long time. I opened the door cautiously as soon as the sound stopped. But nobody was in front of the door, and I heard the sound several times. That’s why I couldn’t sleep”. She had never experienced psychic phenomenon, so she was very nervous. In that afternoon, my grandmother came to call my mother suddenly. And my grandmother told my mother one of our relative had dead in last night. She was very familiar with us especially my mother. When my mother and I heard from my grandmother, she was very sad without fear of last night. And my mother thought that she came to say us good bye. So we haven’t been afraid of this happening anymore.
